First it was Disney+ Day, now we have Netflix Day?

Y’all know what we here thought of the recent Disney+ Day. I even joked about a “Netflix Day”. Little did I know that such a day was already in the pipeline. They are calling the event Tudum… as in the onomatopoeia of that sound that plays every time their logo flashes across the screen. Tudum, pronounced TWO-DOOM. Yeah...

Oh wait, they did this last year, too. Obviously I glazed over it.

Look, I like Netflix enough, at least from how much I watch it versus other streaming services, but following Disney+ with their Disney+ Day, well, you could spend your time and money (especially after the rate hikes) on copying something worth copying. So, yeah, I’m a bit cynical about this Tudum event, but maybe they’ll actually have some cool stuff worth looking at.

Honestly, almost any announcement they’ll make will probably already have been announced or hinted at; there won’t be much of a surprise. The most surprising thing they could do would be to announce they are acquiring a major studio/production house, or a streaming service – like Rakuten Viki or Kocowa, considering how many Korean shows they have on Netflix. Even if they were to announce a new series that was totally unknown, it won’t be that huge of a deal, at least not enough to merit a big event.

At the very least, it’ll be a busy day of new trailers.

Anyways, Netflix Day aka Tudum (Day?). September 24th. Trailer above.
