CDProjekt Red announced during a livestream that the latest patch, 1.6, will be the last major patch for legacy consoles. While the patch release announcement was expected, the news of a new expansion was not.
The expansion, Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty, takes place in a new district with new characters. The 1.6 patch had some fundamental changes that will “pave the way” for improvements and overhauls to key systems in the expansion (including an overhaul of the police system). So far, fans have responded positively to the news.
Also included are tie-ins to the Cyberpunk 2077 anime, Edgerunners, on Netflix which streams on September 13th. Shown was a special jacket, which is apparently key to the story, as well as a weapon inspired by the anime.
Oh, one more thing. Keanu Reeves will be back as Johnny Silverhand for the expansion.
